5G & 6G mmWave Components
Beamforming modules, mmWave test equipment, and components for 5G products and 6G research.
5G mmWave uses the 26 GHz (n258), 28 GHz (n257), and 39 GHz (n260/n261) bands for high data rates and low latency. bq-microwave supplies components for the entire 5G value chain – from research and prototyping through test systems to integration in base stations and user equipment.
For 5G development, we offer beamforming modules (BBox), up/down converters, programmable attenuators, multi-channel attenuators (2–64 channels), handover test systems up to 512 channels, as well as VNA and spectrum analyzer extenders up to 500 GHz. Our manufacturer partners are leaders in phased array solutions with 4 to 16 channels.
For 6G research, we supply components for D-band (110–170 GHz), G-band (140–220 GHz), and sub-THz (up to 1700 GHz). Institutes and developers use our portfolio for channel sounding, over-the-air testing, and antenna measurement in the sub-THz range.

Which frequency bands does bq-microwave cover for 5G?+
We supply components for the complete 5G spectrum: FR1 (sub-6 GHz, n1–n79) with Vaunix test components up to 40 GHz, and the full FR2 range (24.25 – 52.6 GHz, n257–n262) with TMYTEK BBox beamformers and UD-Box up/down converters.
Do you offer components for 6G research?+
Yes. For 6G research we carry D-band components (110–170 GHz, WR-6.5), G-band (140–220 GHz, WR-5.1), and sub-THz modules up to 1,700 GHz from AT Microwave, Magvention, and Elmika. We supply numerous universities and research institutes across Europe for channel sounding and pre-6G studies.
What's the difference between 5G FR1 and 5G FR2?+
5G FR1 (Frequency Range 1) covers the traditional sub-6 GHz spectrum from 0.41 to 7.125 GHz and uses bands like n78 (3.5 GHz) for most 5G networks. 5G FR2 (mmWave) operates at 24.25 to 52.6 GHz and enables multi-gigabit data rates – FR2 requires more complex beamforming architectures, which we support with solutions from TMYTEK.
Which manufacturers do you offer for mmWave beamforming?+
TMYTEK is our exclusive partner for 5G FR2 beamforming modules – the BBox family covers 24–44 GHz with 4 to 32 channels. For higher-frequency beamforming and prototyping in the 6G range, we supply modules from AT Microwave and Magvention well beyond 100 GHz.
