Automotive Radar Components
77 GHz and 79 GHz mmWave components for ADAS, autonomous driving and radar development.
Automotive radar operates at 77 GHz and 79 GHz and is key to ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and autonomous driving. bq-microwave supplies automotive developers and Tier-1 suppliers with the mmWave components and test equipment needed for development, validation and production.
For 77 GHz long-range radar (LRR) and 79 GHz short/medium-range radar (SRR/MRR), we offer high-precision signal sources, VNA extenders, power amplifiers and waveguide components (WR12, WR10). Our signal generators and down-converters enable FMCW radar testing, antenna measurement and RCS measurement in the lab.
We support OEMs, Tier-1s and research institutions with scalable solutions – from individual components for prototyping to complete test setups for over-the-air testing and 4D radar development.

Automotive Radar
Which frequencies are used for automotive radar?+
Automotive radar operates in the 76–81 GHz band, regulated by ETSI EN 301 091 (76–77 GHz, long-range) and ETSI EN 305 550 (77–81 GHz, short-range). These frequencies are routed through WR-12 waveguide (E-Band, 60–90 GHz). Higher frequencies such as 140 GHz are currently in research for next-generation radar systems.
What components do you supply for 77 GHz radar development?+
We supply WR-12 waveguide components (filters, mixers, amplifiers, isolators), VNA frequency extenders for antenna measurement, and programmable attenuators and phase shifters for ADAS test setups. AT Microwave also offers custom-engineered modules for 76–81 GHz.
Do you offer components for 140 GHz radar research?+
Yes. For next-generation automotive radar at 140 GHz and above, we carry D-Band components (110–170 GHz, WR-6.5) and G-Band modules (140–220 GHz, WR-5.1) – ideal for high-resolution imaging radar and research projects on sensor fusion.
Do you have ETSI-compliant test setups?+
We supply components that allow you to build ETSI-compliant test setups – conformity testing itself must be performed by the customer or an accredited laboratory. We're happy to advise you on component selection according to your standards requirements.
