LDA-203B Digital Attenuator 1-20 GHz | High-Resolution Lab Brick from VAUNIX

LDA-203B Lab Brick Digital Attenuator from VAUNIX - available from bq-microwave

The VAUNIX LDA-203B is a high-resolution digital attenuator from the Lab Brick series that combines broadband attenuation control from 1 to 20 GHz with an attenuation range of 63 dB and a step size of 0.5 dB. With dual control via USB and Ethernet, programmable ramp and fading profiles, and a compact, USB-powered form factor, the LDA-203B is ideal for RF test labs, automated test equipment (ATE), and wireless standard validation.

What sets the LDA-203B apart

The LDA-203B is a bidirectional 50-Ω step attenuator with reliable and reproducible solid-state technology. The combination of precise attenuation control, fast switching time of 350 ns, and programmable ramp and fading profiles makes it a flexible tool for demanding RF measurement tasks - from manual operation using the included Windows GUI to full integration into automated test environments.

Control via USB or Ethernet

The LDA-203B offers dual control via USB and Ethernet. The USB port uses a native HID interface and requires no kernel drivers - making it immediately usable on any system that supports USB HID, including Linux and macOS as well as low-cost embedded computers. The Ethernet interface is configurable as Static IP or DHCP and provides a password-protected web interface with configurable HTTP port for additional security.

Included in the delivery are a Windows GUI with SDK, a macOS GUI with SDK, Linux SDK, LabVIEW drivers, and Python example code. This allows the LDA-203B to be operated manually as well as seamlessly integrated into existing automated test sequences - including user-created attenuation ramps and fading profiles.

Typical Applications

  • WiFi, WiFi 6E, 3G, 4G, 5G, LTE - wireless standard testing with precise level control
  • Microwave radio fading simulators with programmable fading profiles
  • Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in production and final testing
  • Engineering and development labs for multiple setups with several attenuators on one PC or USB hub
  • Link simulation for path loss emulation and range measurements
