TMYTEK XRifle Dynamic RIS FR3 – now available at bq-microwave

bq-microwave adds the XRifle Dynamic RIS FR3 from TMYTEK as the fourth model to the proven XRifle Dynamic RIS family. The FR3 variant is a Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) purpose-built for the 6G FR3 upper mid-band 7.125–8.4 GHz – programmable, standards-ready and scalable.

What the FR3 variant brings

The XRifle Dynamic RIS FR3 runs on the same proven controller and software platform as the existing RIS models 3G5, 4G7 and 28G – there is no new control infrastructure to build or learn. What is new is the array itself: a 16x16 PIN-diode array with 256 elements, designed for the FR3 upper mid-band currently in focus for 6G standardization.

Software – familiar stack, zero learning curve

The FR3 variant µses exactly the same software stack as the existing XRifle Dynamic RIS models: TMXLAB Kit GUI for point-and-click control of reflection pattern and beam angle without code, and the TLKCore Python API for scripted, repeatable test automation. Teams already working with TMYTEK tools can start immediately.

Scaling and tiling

Like the other XRifle RIS models, the FR3 is scalable: up to four RIS modules can be driven by a single controller. The Lambda/4 bezel design enables Lambda/2 tiling without grating lobes – allowing larger controlled-reflection surfaces as needed for 6G research in multi-user and multi-path scenarios.

With the FR3, the XRifle Dynamic RIS family now comprises four models:

  • 3G5: 3.35–3.6 GHz (Sub-6 GHz FR1)
  • 4G7: 4.2–5.2 GHz (Sub-6 GHz FR1)
  • 28G: 26–30 GHz (mmWave FR2)
  • FR3: 7.125–8.4 GHz (6G FR3 upper mid-band) – NEW

All four run on the same controller and software, including heterogeneous combinations.
