Waveguide Pressure Windows up to 110 GHz
Waveguide Pressure Windows up to 110 GHz – Pressure-tight seals for demanding RF systems. At bq-microwave we offer waveguide pressure windows for the frequency range from 0.32 GHz to 112 GHz (WR2300 to WR10). These components provide a pressure-tight separation between two waveguide sections operating under different atmospheric conditions – such as vacuum versus pressurized air, or inert gas fills versus ambient atmosphere – protecting sensitive components in transmitter and receiver chains.
Key Features
- Frequency coverage from 0.32 GHz to 112 GHz – complete waveguide series WR2300 to WR10
- Typical VSWR of 1.25 (max. 1.3 from WR22) across full waveguide bandwidth
- Typical insertion loss of only 0.2 dB
- Pressure-tight construction with dielectric window disc
- Various flange options: FDP/FDM, FBP/FBM/FBE and FUGP for mmWave
- Materials: Aluminum (lower bands), aluminum or copper (mid bands), copper (mmWave)
- Corrosion protection with black finish
Applications
- Satellite ground stations and SatCom transmitter chains
- Military radar systems and high-power transmitters
- Vacuum chambers and low-pressure measurement systems
- Inert gas-filled waveguide runs for protection of sensitive components
- RF test and measurement equipment and lab setups

Pressure-tight separation for demanding systems
In many mmWave and high-power applications, waveguide runs must separate two different atmospheres – for example, an evacuated receiver side and a pressurized antenna side. Pressure windows fulfill this requirement through a thin dielectric window disc within the waveguide cross-section that passes RF energy with minimal loss while forming a gas-tight barrier. The optimized geometry ensures VSWR values below 1.25 across the full bandwidth of each respective waveguide size.
Custom solutions for individual requirements
Beyond our standard configurations, we manufacture custom pressure windows for specific frequency ranges, flange types, or special pressure and temperature requirements. Contact us via the contact form on our website or by email at info@bq-microwave.de to discuss your application.
